“I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I received this email while we were filming, and I turned around to ask my castmates, “Did you guys get this email?” ‘Yeah,’ they said, and I said, ‘This is a joke.’ Right? Andrew Garfield can’t possibly be a Cobra Kai fan,’ says the actor. “According to the actress, who is 25 years old,
“‘There’s no way,’ we all exclaimed. This must simply be a set-up for us to help promote X, Y, and Z, as well as for us t andflix film] Tick, Tick… Boom! and for him to promote Cobra Kai, “She remembers.
However, after seeing a video of Garfield calling Cobra Kai “an obsession,” the cast’s minds were quickly changed.
“‘Oh, my God,’ I exclaimed. Perhaps he is a huge fan of the show. That would be insanely cool,’ says the author. “Mouser keeps going. “We all talked about it for a week after that because we were all like, ‘Did you send in your video?’ ‘Did you submit your video?’ ‘Yes, I did submit my video.’ ‘I can’t believe it.’ He’ll be able to see my face. He’ll see my face when I’m talking to him.’ Then we got to see his reaction in person.”
After the show, Mouser says her co-stars “were all texting each other.” “We haven’t stopped teasing him about his moments of [watching] Ralph and Billy (Zabka) because we just think it’s an adorable little bromance, all of them,” she added.
Hawk’s actor Jacob Bertrand tells PEOPLE that Garfield’s reaction was “so funny.”
“When I showed him the video, he said something along the lines of, ‘Oh, wow.’ I’m well-known among the Cobra Kai cast,’ “Bertrand, a 21-year-old, explains. “‘Whoa, that’s so cool!’ When I got the email telling me to make the video because he likes the show. Andrew Garfield is aware of my existence. ‘Wow,’ says the speaker.”
“It’s funny that someone like [Andrew] still has thoughts like that,” Bertrand adds.
“He’s Spider-Man in all of these fricking amazing films, and he’s still a super humble guy. “Hopefully, we can become best friends and hang out,” he adds, laughing.”
