The 30-year-old singer spoke to BBC Radio London on Monday about his most recent project: purchasing land to plant trees and “rewild” his homeland.
“I’m attempting to purchase as much land and plant as many trees as possible. I’m attempting to rewild as much of the United Kingdom as possible. I adore my county, as well as wildlife and the natural world,”‘ he stated to the outlet.
“I feel like I’m going to get my head bitten off whenever I say that,” he continued, “because my job isn’t particularly sustainable because I go and play in cities, but I’m trying my hardest.”
The “Shivers” singer also spoke about his touring plans, saying that it’s all about finding “balance.”
“I think it’s about finding the balance with that,” he said. “I honestly believe that at the end of this next tour, I can’t see myself going on one of them like that again.”
Sheeran’s upcoming Mathematics Tour will begin in Dublin, Ireland, in April 2022 and will travel to major cities in the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and other countries.
According to Spotify, Sheeran’s song “Shape of You” became the 1st song on Spotify to reach 3 billion streams last week.
The singer also revealed his favorite Christmas Eve tradition at the iHeartRadio Holiday Pop Up Party earlier this month, in honor of the holiday season. He and his friends perform a riff on the classic song “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” dubbed “The 12 Pubs of Christmas.”
He explained, “We get our van and go to one pub and then the next pub in a van.” “We’re down to one pint, and it’s only getting worse. And you say things like, ‘On the twelfth pub of Christmas…’ But we’re slowing down. 12 pints is a lot of beer.”
