With light-filled French doors and a marble-filled bathroom, the house is a treasure trove of Californian simplicity.
Maddie Ziegler just moved into the Hollywood Hills after spending $2.5 million on a traditional Californian house.
When she made her television debut on Dance Moms, a show filmed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the dancer-turned-actress was just 8 years old. The Fallout and Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, to name just a couple of her appearances, are recent examples of Maddie’s attention shifting to the big screen. Therefore, it seems only right that the actress currently resides in one of the finest houses in the Nichols Canyon neighbourhood in the Hollywood Hills.
Following a recent refurbishment, the 1958 cottage’s old Hollywood grandeur and modern simplicity are combined in the space. Jeffrey Jones, a supporting actor who appeared in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, held the house for fourteen years after purchasing it for $1.3 million in 2008. According to Dirt (opens in new tab), he was in charge of the stylish renovation that transformed the home into a blank canvas suitable for even more contemporary design concepts.
With its cute white trim and grey stucco façade. Before you even enter Maddie Ziegler’s new house, it exudes classic style. You are then greeted by a number of open-plan living and dining spaces that share the same crisp white paint design.
A seamless transition between interior and outdoor life is made possible by the home’s simple colour scheme, which highlights the natural light that pours in through the glass doors. Wide-plank hardwood flooring and high ceilings can be found throughout much of the 2,000 square foot house, ensuring that the space seems spacious and open.
With its breakfast nook and soft white cabinetry, the freshly updated kitchen concepts are impressive, but the home’s main living area is arguably its most impressive feature. The room boasts an elaborate fireplace that matches the French doors and an exposed wood-beam ceiling.
A more formal dining area with built-in cabinets and patio doors is also present in the house. A marble en suite with dual vanities and a restorative steam shower is connected to the bedroom suite in the meantime.
With its Scandi-cool design and very Californian yard, the house is a trendsetter, but it’s also crucial to emphasise that it’s environmentally sustainable. It has a solar panel system that is entirely owned and uses the sun’s energy to produce electricity.
