Phoebe Dynevor of Bridgerton brought flowers to the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards on January 15 and substituted Regency-era England for Ancient Greece. In order to present Bob Odenkirk with the prize for Best Actor in a Drama Series, Dynevor was there. In the Netflix drama, the actor wears the character Daphne Bridgerton. She wore a couture dress from her favourite French fashion business, Louis Vuitton. The actress, who was styled by Nicky Yates, accessorised the free-flowing look with delicate Charlotte Tilbury makeup and wore her hair in a low-maintenance braid with a few loose strands framing her face.
Fans of Bridgerton may have already noticed the relationship between the historical drama and Greek mythology. The names of two of the Bridgerton daughters, Daphne and Hyacinth, are taken from characters in myths about Apollo and unrequited love. Sharp-eyed viewers have also picked up on other subtle allusions in the series, such as the famous Venus painting that Eloise and Penelope see while visiting Somerset House in season two.
It is commonly known that the celebrity is a Louis Vuitton devotee. She embraced the cut-out fashion earlier in 2023 for an awards season gala, while she and many of her Bridgerton cast mates sported the sheer trend last year.
The annual awards, presented by the American-Canadian Critics Choice Association, honour the greatest films of the year and are sometimes viewed as an early signal of which movies and performers might have a big night at the Oscars in March. Brendan Fraser and Cate Blanchett won Best Actor and Best Actress awards for their performances in The Whale and Tár, respectively, while the absurdist action thriller Everything Everywhere All At Once took home the Best Picture award.
